Scroll Turned Spiral Candlestick Holders

I frequently get asked the question, "Oh, are those made on a lathe?" And I reply, "How would you make these on a lathe?" I'm sure there is a way, but I don't know it. 

These are hand cut on a scroll saw and sanded to get nice round contours and equal dimensioning. The candlesticks are then finished using stain (if necessary) and any finish or sealant is applied.
